Hubby and Me

Thanks for the post from Hal Potter

My husband and I love to watch shows together, it’s one of the things that brought us together in the first place. We’re really into all the AMC shows ever since we got our DIRECTV Receiver and I know my husband loved Walking Dead probably more than any other show that’s ever been on TV. I’m more of a Mad Men girl myself and I’m SO happy it’s time for it to come back on air – it seems like it’s been off for decades! Anyway, AMC is just doing wonders with good TV nowadays and I can’t believe it used to be a total old folks channel. I think some of the best TV on the airwaves is coming from them but you know, I don’t make the shows, I just watch them, so I don’t really have a leg to stand on when it comes to being a critic. I just know what I like and what I like right now is on AMC!

Work Vacay

Contribution by Saul Martin

What a week. I spent Monday through Wednesday in Philly speaking on the do’s and do not’s of our new Biofusion Blood Test. Riviting, I know. Besides eating incredible food, I am all but sick of that city. Once a week, every week, I get on a stuffy plane and put on a miserable business suit to stand in front of three thousand geeks who are enamored with this product. I find it interesting, yes, but I would much rather be curled up in that hotel king-sized bed scrolling through the DIRECT TV Guide with a bowl of ice cream in hand. So, last Wednesday, I did just that. I called my boss and explained that I needed an extra day in Philly to go through my expense report before flying home, called the front desk to extend my stay and then called room service for a nice little spread of cheese and wine charged to Siemens Inc. Then, I ordered sappy romantic comedies with the remote and nestled into the cold, perfect hotel sheets. Who says you can’t have a vacation on a work trip?

I be up in the gym just workin on my fitness

Thanks for the guest post by Bradly Watkins

Here we are at the end of another year. 2011 went by so fast on one hand and SO slow on the other. I made some big changes in my life this year. One of them was deciding to start going to a gym regularly. I have always been one of those people that would try a workout here and there but would never really stick to anything more than maybe two times. This year I decided was going to be my year for the gym. I decided in roughly September and have been going several times a week ever since. This month has been the best month yet. I hear December is always slow but man, I have never seen such a ghost town! Luckily my gym has Expert Satellite with television sets everywhere to keep me company while I workout. I will usually tune it to a show that I like and since there is no one else there I don’t have to worry about anyone complaining that they don’t want to watch my show.

Looked it up

Posted by Arden Wallace

When I looked up Electric Company Rates in Grapevine I was shocked. I wasn’t used to having deregulated energy back home in Georgia so it was crazy to me that the rates were so low in other parts of the country. Anyway, the move was all in all a success but you know one thing? I’m never, EVER going to plan to do manual labor in August in Texas again, I can promise you that much! I don’t know what people are thinking but at the end of the day they’ve got some nerve trying to get me to move in that kind of heat. Anyway, my husband loves his new job and I love that we were able to afford so much more house for the money. We’ll be able to start a family soon with all this extra space and that was part of the reason we moved so I’m glad it’s working out at the end of the day. I can’t wait to see!

Rent to Give

A trustworthy book rental company, Campus Book Rentals is teaming up with a pristine charity, Operation Smile and are donating over 1,000 life saving cleft lip surgeries this year to children in need. Campus Book Rentals has been helping students save money on expensive textbooks since 2007, and Operation Smile has been offering free surgeries to less fortunate children since 1982.
This is really a win/win situation for everyone. Not only do students get books for a fraction of the retail price, but children born with facial deformities will be given the chance to smile, eat and socialize.

So here is the deal, for each order you place with CampusBookRentals.com a portion of the money you spend will be donated to Operation Smile. So, not only are you paying less for textbooks, you are getting free shipping both ways, a 30 day trial period, and the largest book selection in the nation. Once you have rented your books, the money will then be donated to Operation Smile, where trusted doctors can take over and help children around the world.
Without donations from sponsors and others, Operation Smile would not be able to perform these life saving surgeries. That is right, these surgeries are in fact life saving, since without them it is impossible for these children to eat and carry on with day to day life.
This really takes little effort on your part, and in fact will save you money on your next textbook purchase.

All Into Sports

Guest post by Jewel Cole

Having a big family means there are a lot of hobbies going on at any given time but one thing we all have in common is a mutual love for sports. AT any given time, someone’s out and about on a field or a court somewhere playing the game that they’re into at the moment. I got us HomeSecurityFamilyalarms for the house since there’s hardly ever a time when we’re home and the younger kids often just leave the doors unlocked because they don’t know any better. I guess that’s the plus and the minus of living in a neighborhood where there are tons of other kids trying to play at any moment of the day! I love how active my brothers and sisters are but there’s nothing to say they won’t all burn out their love for the games by the time they hit my age. I used to be really into gymnastics but when I hit 20 I decided I never wanted to have to go to a gym again!

Finding dorm decor to match my son's personality

Guest post written by Debbie Walker

I'm one of those moms that knows all about video games because of my son. He simply plays them all the time and has always preferred them to other forms of entertainment. Now, he also plays sports and things like that so it's not actually all that he does. But still, you could say that I'm a cool mom because every once in a while I'll play him and actually hold my own with my video game playing skills. So I thought that he should make sure that he's at home in his college dorm room when he moves in next week by bringing in some decorations that remind him of his favorite games.

Now, I told him that he could only take one gaming system with him to make sure that he would actually get his studying done. I was looking online trying to find some video game decorations for him when I came across the websitehttp://ClearWirelessinternet4g.com. I showed it to my husband and after that we decided to change over our home internet service to it.

I actually found some cool video game posters that got my son's approval, so I think that he'll feel more at home.

Brother

Written by my friend Judson Kelly

My brother asked me last week what I wanted for my birthday, and I just wasn't sure what to tell. I had recently moved to a small ranch outside of town and my days were consumed by trying to get this place in working order. I certainly couldn't ask him for a new tractor or to help me fix my fence, so I decided to tell him to sign me up for compare mobile broadbandso I can stay connected to the outside world out here in my own little oasis. He was actually really thrilled that I gave him such a good suggestion, and he went out and bought the service two whole days before my birthday! It's been really nice keeping in touch with my family and friends even when I don't see them for a couple weeks at a time, and having Internet out here is crucial since I'm constantly looking for new vendors for farm equipment. I love living way out here on my own and having technology to keep in touch is definitely no longer optional.
